The siren sounded

This morning. "Acqua alta" warning. The raised platforms were already up on the streets. Hotel workers scurried to lay hoses for their pumps. Locals got out their thigh-high rubber boots.

How high?
One meter. One meter ten.
When?
About 9, 9:30.

Yikes! Time to get out of Dodge, er, Venice.
