Hiss... Gurgle... Whoosh!

...Which is what happens every few minutes at the volcano here. This guy comes with a big bucket of water, and pours a little bit of it into a hole in the ground. Some steam comes out.
Then, he pours the rest of the water into the pit and then runs away. Seconds later, a huge spout geyser erupts from the hole. What's really happening is the little bit of water goes down into the volcano, and evaporates before it reaches the bottom. When the rest of the water comes down, the bottom of the flow evaporates. The steam pushes blasts the water up, making a great show.
