Getting ready for Semana do Mar

Booths are going up all down the waterfront for Sea Week, which starts Sunday, a celebration of music, dance, food and, based on the percentage of booths, beer.

Also going up are a number of stages for bands, equipped with shipping containers full of speakers and amplifiers. Rumor has it that both The Who and Springsteen are to perform (sadly, the rumor hasn't spread much beyond Pontoon C, Berth 17, at this point).

The marina gave us a nice gift bag with some cheese and honey and a letter asking us to take part by dressing ship with signal flags. What? Juno's crew is lucky to dress themselves, let alone the ship! And signal flags!? Where are we supposed to get them? The only we have is "O" for "man overboard." Hmmmmm -- will Defender deliver to the middle of the Atlantic?
